Paramount has revealed details for the upcoming release of Star Trek. The film will be released on November 17th, same day as the DVD. The Blu-ray will include something called branching pods. What do these pods do? they allow the user enhanced exploration, extra features on the starships, planets, props, costumes and sound of Star Trek, as well as a Starfleet Vessel Simulator. BD-Live will let the user find the latest information from NASA about real life space exploration. Paramount has also provided technical details for this release.
