‘Battle: Los Angeles’, A huge success at the Box Office

While we surely expected ‘Battle: Los Angeles’ to be quite successful, but the fact that the sci-fi alien adventure film by Sony totally colonized the Box Office was surely a surprise. In fact the $ 36 million debut of the movie and reaching up to the charts very top was truly least expected.

Even though the film should have had a mid March feel, after such huge success it is safe to say that it became a summer styled blockbuster. Aaron Eckhart stars in the film as a Marine platoon leader who has the task on his shoulders to protect the Earth and all mankind from invading alien forces who are set to colonize the planet. The film also stars Ne-Yo, whom we know of more as singer than an actor, and Michelle Rodriguez, who is popular from ‘The Fast and the Furious’ film series. From the action that is portrayed within the film, including the eye catching visual effects and the countless alien and military confrontations, the film is sure to attract males of a variety of ages. The true genre of alien invasion movies like those from the 50s might have had gone stale from quite some time, but Battle: Los Angeles revives it all while offering modern twists as well.

During the opening weekend, the sci-fi action film was still fighting strong enough to retain its top spot at the U.S. box office chart. In fact the film was well received internationally as well, grossing at $53 million worldwide.
