Hawkeye was a very underrated character and even in figure form it remains somewhat underrated, but I can tell you that Hot Toys delivered a quality piece. With a price of $189 it was hard to pass on and I admit that even I contemplated skipping on the figure solely because I already planned on getting Iron Man, Thor and Captain America. Needless to say Hawkeye is a fantastic figure.

From looking at the prototype photos the figure looked very simple, but upon taking it out of the box and taking a look at all the accessories you’ll quickly realize it’s far from simple. Hawkeye includes six (6) hand pieces, a quiver, sixteen (16) arrows, eleven different arrow tips, two bows, a pair of sunglasses, and a stand. Hot Toys even included a piece to attach the quiver to Hawkeye’s belt.

The accessories are quite nice to say the least. The quiver can be equipped with the arrows and it even includes rotating arrow tips at the bottom. There is a very high level of details involved here, but I did find some difficulties with a few arrows fitting into the quiver. Handle these pieces with care because the arrows will bend and break. There is also a full set of arrow tips included which are very nice. They are well detailed and really add realism to the figure. The headsculpt was really close to the real life likeness of Jeremy Renner. It’s very very close, although once the sun glasses are on the look is uncanny.

I don’t have many complaints and perhaps some of my complaints are just me being picky. The arm joints were very stiff and it took me a while to actually bend the arms, but that can all be attributed to the plastic. Posing the figure with the bow and arrow was challenging too, the majority of hands did not have independent fingers (at least some separation between them) so it was a bit difficult to have the figure hold the arrow precisely.

For $189 this figure is a steal. The level of detail is great and if you have a chance to pick it up at non-eBay prices then go for it! Hawkeye is a great figure to add to your collection.
