Baltimore Comic-Con: What an Experience

bcc-2013-logo

This past weekend I went to the Baltimore Comic Con. This small but amazing convention brings some of the best artists, writers and vendors from all over the country. This is the convention that focuses on the comic book and art side of pop culture and less on film and other media. I attended the event with hosts Ken and Jim of the FROM THE BOOTH podcast and had an awesome time.

Some of the big name artists/writers who attended were Greg Capullo, Paul Pope, Brandon Montclare, Amy Reeder, Walter Simonson, Frank Cho and Adam Hughes. Some of the top publishers who attended were Valiant, BOOM! Studios, Big Dog Ink and Zenoscope.

This was my first time at this show and it was definitely a comic book fans dream. The professionals I was able to speak with at the venue were very down to earth and more relaxed than any convention I’ve been to date. I was impressed that these people who have seen fan after fan remembered who I was without hesitation.

I also want to mention the professionalism of the staff and volunteers running the event. They were courteous and would bend over backwards to help with anything that you might need. They treat the people with respect whether you are press or a visitor. This is a show I recommend to anyone and I plan on attending next year.

Make sure to keep an eye out for the next podcast episode with Ken and Jim (and sometimes myself) of FROM THE BOOTH brought to you by Captain Blue Hen Comics.
