This week, I’m doing a review on a few of the HARRY POTTER figures from Star Ace Toys Ltd’s My Favourite Movie Series. They are 1/6 scale figures of Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Sirius Black. After the images and the review, make sure to check out the details video below. So let’s dive right in, shall we?

Casual wear Harry Potter
The Harry Potter figure is in his casual wear from the first film, HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER’S STONE — or, as it is known outside of the U.S., HARRY POTTER AND THE PHILOSOPHER’S STONE. His headscuplt is in the likeness of Daniel Radcliffe in his debut film as the wizard. The paint on Harry is excellent. The skin is blended well with his hair and the skin tone looks right. He’s a little pale, but so is Radcliffe, so it make sense. The body’s articulation is tight and is able to whatever poses you want to put him in. His arms are even tight enough to hold Hedwig if you choose. His casual clothing includes a red knit sweater, an undershirt, khaki pants, and black dress shoes. He has on the signature glasses and has the scar to go with it. The glasses are not removable and molded onto his face. I think that it is a good move because Harry really isn’t known for his glasses to be off of his face. The Sorcerer’s (or Philosopher’s) Stone is colored and shaped like it was in the movie. Of course, he has his wand and three swappable hands to hold the wand or the stone depending on the pose you’re going for. Harry also comes with Hedwig, his pet owl, who sits in one position. Between the detailing in the figure and the accessories, the figure is astonishing. Hands down, this is one of the best Harry Potter collectibles available.

Casual wear Ron Weasley from THE SORCERER’S STONE
This 1/6 scale figure of Ron Weasley from the first HARRY POTTER movie looks excellent. His headsculpt and little smirk is spot-on for for Ron. The paint on Ron looks great. The red in his hair is not too much or cartoony, but quite realistic. His complexion is fair-skinned just like Grint. Star Ace does a great job with the skin tones on their figures. Ron’s clothing is also khaki pants, a t-shirt, a plaid button down shirt, and black dress shows. This is the outfit he was wearing while tracking down The Sorcerer’s Stone in the depths of the school. His included accessories are his rat Scabbers, a wand, three swappable hands, and a full wizard’s chess set and pieces. Like Harry, he is from the early films, so he doesn’t have any “magical effects” like some of the later figures. He pairs perfectly with Harry and I’m sure looks great with the Hermione figure as well.

NOTE: I’m not 100% sure that I set up the chess board and pieces properly, so please excuse the error if I did it incorrectly.

Sirius Black from THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX
Out of all of the figures I’ve reviewed here, this one is probably my favorite. Sirius, the godfather of Harry Potter, has been made in the likeness of the character from the film HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX. The headsculpt looks exactly like Gary Oldman. Like the other figures, his skin tone matches the actor well. He has a darker complexion than the kids and his hair is colored liked the character. There are a few shades in it to show a little grey above his ears. Because magic was used a lot more in the later films, Sirius comes with something the “younger” characters don’t have: what Star Ace calls the “Flash for Magical Effect” that shoots out of his wand. This clear and very cool effect just fits on the end of the wand and he looks like a wizard in action. Speaking of his wand, the little details are all there and even down to the shape. He comes with four sets of swappable hands; one for holding the wand, one in a spell casting pose, and two relaxed hands. As far as his clothing, out of the box, he is wearing his stripped 3-piece suit, a button down, a waistcoat chain and fob, and cuff links. He also comes with the wooly-black fur coat that shows off his tattoos under his clothes. That’s right: Star Ace has the ambition to make sure that he is covered in screen-accurate tattoos that cover his arms and torso. He is an amazing figure and they didn’t leave out any details.

All of the figures come with clear acrylic figure stands. The base-plates and piece that stay vertical behind the figures are all the same. The clamps, however, are very different. Harry and Ron’s are the same with a metal thumb screw to keep the “C” clamp attached to the pillar. The clamp that Sirius uses is larger and can be squeezed tighter against the figure. Sirius also comes with a separate stand attachment that holds up the magical effect. It is helpful for support, but the arm joints seem tight enough to hold everything up on their own.

There are only two things that I would have liked included with the figures, but I’ll put them on my wishlist. With Harry, I would like to see the old key with wings or the broom he used at the end to catch the key. With Sirius, I would like to eventually see his dog form that plays a major role in two of the films and is directly associated with his fur coat.

I’m a legitimate Harry Potter fan, so seeing these characters in the 1/6 scale form is so awesome to me. Star Ace has really made impressive figures here that can easily go head-to-head with any collectibles company. Like I’ve said, the detailing in each one is so well done and they look excellent posed together. There isn’t anything that I can think of that has been overlooked or missed in these figures. Overall, I could not be more pleased with these figures and I can’t wait to see what they do next.

Here is a video showing the details of the figures
