Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures have released the first photo from OCEAN’S EIGHT, the upcoming spin-off to their popular OCEAN’S ELEVEN franchise from director Steven Soderbergh. The new film follows Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock) as she assembles a team of ladies to pull off the heist of the century at the Met Gala in New York City.

Alongside Bullock’s Debbie, the new crew consists of Cate Blanchett as Lou, Anne Hathaway as Daphne Kruger, Rihanna as Nine Ball, Helena Bonham Carter as Rose, Mindy Kaling as Amita, Awkwafina as Constance, and Sarah Paulson as Tammy. The film will also star Damian Lewis, James Corden, Dakota Fanning, Olivia Munn, and Richard Armitage, with cameos expected from Katie Holmes, Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Anna Wintour, Adriana Lima, and Matt Damon — presumably as Linus Caldwell, his character from OCEAN’S ELEVEN, TWELVE, and THIRTEEN (though it wouldn’t be surprising if George Clooney’s Danny Ocean also pops up being that the film follows his sister).

Oscar-nominated director Gary Ross (THE HUNGER GAMES) helms the project from a screenplay by himself and Olivia Milch. Soderbergh with produce alongside Jon Kilik while Bullock, Michael Tadross, Susan Ekins, Diana Alvarez, and Bruce Berman executive produce. Milch will co-produce.

OCEAN’S ELEVEN was a massive hit for Soderbergh and Warner Bros. back in 2001, spawning two sequels with the entire trilogy earning over $1.1-billion worldwide. A spin-off was long-rumored and came to fruition after Bullock signed on.

OCEAN’S EIGHT is set to infiltrate theaters on June 8th, 2018.
