Warner Bros has announced that they will be releasing all eight films in the HARRY POTTER series to 4k UHD this year. The films on the UHD discs will all have the HDR which will give these films more definition than ever seen before. All of the UHD discs will also have a DTS:X audio mix which will really be a game changer for this series considering the dynamic sound that the filmmakers were looking for with a films like these. The combo packs come with the 4k UHD with HDR disc, the Blu-ray, and the digital HD copy of the film.

Only Warner is doing something a little different: they are releasing HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX; HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE; AND HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS Parts 1 & 2 on March 28th but they’re releasing HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER’S STONE; HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS; HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN; and HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE on an unconfirmed date later this year.

This release schedule confuses me a bit. My guess is that they’re completely remastering the first four in the series or adding more content to them because, other than that, I don’t know why they would release them like this.

Also FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM releases on March 28 on 4k UHD with HDR and the standard Blu-ray.
