Synopsis:
Filmed over 12 years with the same cast, Richard Linklater's Boyhood is a groundbreaking story of growing up as seen through the eyes of a child named Mason (Ellar Coltrane), who literally grows up on screen before our eyes. Starring Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette as Mason's parents and newcomer Lorelei Linklater as his sister Samantha, Boyhood charts the rocky terrain of childhood like no other film has before and is both a nostalgic time capsule of the recent past and an ode to growing up and parenting. What I am implying is that it is interesting that they would go for an indie film rather than go with the typical mainstream movie.
Is that a bad thing then? You're saying that Boyhood doesn't "deserve" a steelbook, so I don't know what else could you mean.
Let me compare it to 12 Years A Slave, great movie (Best Picture Winner) but yet no Steelbook has been made for the movie.

I'm in two minds about this one now, as a film lover I'm curious to see it I just don't know if I want to pay the premium price for a Steelbook release to see the movie

There are two versions a regular and a variant and now I can't decide as I don't want both.

Same here man. I don't mind paying the extra for this version but to me it looks like the numbering is on the j card..I haven't seen this movie so I'll be opening it if I bought it..kinda wish the numbering was on steel like WWZ. Plus 16 page booklet isn't enough to sway me..and I think I like the art more on standard copy lol

It's strange as when I first saw this I had no interest. I then read more about the movie and I have to admit, I'm very excited to get this now :D
