coming to Blu-ray™ + Digital HD March 14, 2017

BEVERLY HILLS, CA – (December 13, 2016) The groundbreaking anime film Ghost in the Shell arrives on Blu-ray™ + Digital HD with limited-edition Mondo key art in collectible Steelbook packaging from Anchor Bay Entertainment on March 14, 2017. The groundbreaking anime celebrated the 25th anniversary of the original Manga in 2014. Directed by legendary anime director Mamoru Oshii, Ghost in the Shell questions human existence in the fast-paced world of the information age, this award-winning, cyber-tech thriller has established itself as one of the leading Japanese animation films of all time.

A female cybernetic government agent, Major Motoko Kusanagi, and the Internal Bureau of Investigations are hot on the trail of “The Puppet Master,” a mysterious and threatening computer virus capable of infiltrating human hosts. Together, with her fellow agents from Section 9, they embark on a high-tech race against time to capture the omnipresent entity. Ghost in the Shell took the world by storm in the mid-90’s, exhibiting a new dimension of anime with unprecedented, mesmerizing cinematic expression. Seamlessly merging traditional animation with the latest computer graphic imagery, this stunning sci-fi spectacle challenged the boundaries of mainstream animation with detailed artistic expression and a uniquely intelligent story line. Veteran director Mamoru Oshii skillfully creates the ultimate anime experience in this futuristic masterpiece based on the groundbreaking comic book by Masamune Shirow.

Confirmed USA only, and that's further backed up by the studio behind the release.

But it definitely will. The most expensive USA Mondo steelbooks from Target averaged $22 - $25 when available.
Oh okay ! Well then I hope the price will drop to that price, that'd be great :) Thanks for the info ;)

Is there a way to order this from the US without being hit by UK customs before delivery? My previous experience with Amazon US wasn't positive.

Thanks,

Ed

If you don't have a mail forwarding service, then I think the only other option would be to have a member source one for you directly.

@Wreck mentioned there might be some further savings for members if he was able to obtain direct, uncertain if that's still an option, or if it will be an option.

@Wreck - Do you have an update on this?

Cheers

I'm still checking with supplier we now have. Typically we have access now to any USA Steelbook that is trade wide. And we can get them earlier then release date to match release date.

I know that this steelbook in general will be made in about 2 weeks thus there still being time for us to perhaps get. This release won't sell out in a week or nothing so you will have a bit of time to make the best choice once all the retailers pop up etc. fyi

Just a word of caution for those international buyers - retailers are not always aware of the care necessary to ship steelbooks overseas.
Kindly keep that in mind when purchasing from anyone that you haven't dealt with before.

Rightstuf's packaging is amazing, but their shipping is pricey for people outside the US/Canada and kind of slow. That being said, I've never bought a Steelbook from them and I've never really put in a small order so I'm not sure how those will get packed. Typically their stuff is individually wrapped (or at least the more fragile items are) in brown paper, and Tetris style stacked in study boxes which are also padded on the sides with cardboard buffers which stop everything from moving around.
