5th Annual Steelbook of the Year '15-7 categories-[Winners]

Hello ninjas!

It's time to share what your favorites in the Steelbook collectibles category for 2015 in our 5th annual member vote for Steelbook of the Year.

Several new categories have been added this year based on member feedback and the evolution of the types of Steelbook releases released over the years. After the nomination period ends on January 15,2016, the individual voting poll threads for each category will be opened after Apollon tallies the nominations by category, and you will be able to vote until January 31,2016.

The winner(s) will be announced early February. Any Steelbooks that was completely released, shipped and in-hand to customers by December 31,2015 are eligible to be included.

• The 25 most nominated releases (based on member mentions in this thread), for each of the 7 categories will be included in the 7 voting polls (one for each category) that will be posted mid January. Once the polls are live you can only vote once for your top choice in each category, and you cannot change your vote.

I have not decided on my lists yet
Very hard to make a choice as I have lots of steelbooks I liked from various retailers/countries

Most so far in the members lists are releases from either Nova/Blufans/Plain Archive or Film Arena releases with one title been WWA release getting mentioned a lot by most members and would be expected as it's an amazing steelbook
I have a lot of these but I also have some wonderful releases from various retailers I got in 2015

The choices of categories limit a lot to the Asian or Film Arena releases and very easy to just repeat the same choices in steelbook only category and this is what I see been done in most of the lists
I see lots of steelbooks not getting a mention that normally would have if it was just a list of steelbooks regardless if they have a Full slip or Lenti

Very easy to just repeat the same titles in each categories because they had a full slip or lenti and ignore the other steelbooks releases that don't have a lenti or full slip and some of these are wwa titles the actual steelbook itself with a few been very nice steelbooks

From what I see so far a lot of very good steelbooks from outside of Asia not getting a mention in majority of the lists bar a few that only purchase uk steelbooks

At the moment I'm looking at releases with Full Slips/Lenti and also been thinking towards repeating the same in the steelbook only category as others have done but is not what I want to do as it's not giving some amazing steelbooks a chance to be voted on

It might be just me but in my opinion the overall vote list won't end up representing a varied choice of steelbooks to vote on compared to previous years and a lot of wonderful steelbooks won't make the vote list


I will give my list before the deadline but I want to give it more thought to the rest of the steelbooks from 2015 before I list my choices
