Legendary Entertainment--the production giant that brought us Pacific Rim, Godzilla, The Dark Knight trilogy and so many other blockbusters--now has an official Chinese branch called Legendary East. The first production for Legendary East just started filming in China last month. It's described as the story of “an elite force making a last stand for humanity on the world’s most iconic structure.” Directed by Zhang Yimou (his first English-language film).

Yeah... but once again... why not an Asian actor? Is there a reason we already know?

I've been staring at people complaining all day long about Matt Damon being in this. Seriously, WTF? It's tiring now. This is being directed by one of the biggest directors in China ever. It's being produced by Legendary which is now owned by a Chinese company. If these people didn't want Matt Damon, he wouldn't be in it. Simple. It's not like he's playing a freakin' Chinese character! He's playing a British soldier who just happens to be in China at the time. Ugh.

Apparently he is playing a British explorer (Can Matt Damon do a british accent?) so guessing it is part of the story.

Although i really can't see Matt Damon doing a British accent, but he is prob in the top 3 popular White actors in china.

That's how i'm viewing it, I mean i understand things like Scarlett in the ghost in the shell etc but this is different IMO.

Oh this is actually a monster movie?!?!?!

I thought it was a serious film about the Great Wall lol

Trailer looks a bit naff to me,
Brothers Grimm in China!

Also what are the monsters? They look like big lions running up the hill!!
