Are 3D TV's on their way out?

If nothing else, 3D provides us with something positive and extra right across the screen size range - which is more than can ever be said of 4K.

Films shot in 3D are always going to look better than those adapted; but3D can be viewed and enjoyed on ANY tv screen thus equipped no matter the size. Any potential improvement on a 4k tv seen at under 65 inches is just wasted.

3D for all the whining of some is a mass market medium. 4K is a small niche market that, due to lack of content, and zero chance of broadcast 4k in the next 20 years, is doomed.

So, of the latest marketing tools in tv it is clear to me which is the most consumer friendly.

I always thought that 3D was a loser from day 1 when you consider than 1 in 5 people cannot experience 3d (me included). So a vast potential audience are excluded before you start.

I love my 3d TV ... but I waited a long time so mine has that newer Theater 3d.
