I know exactly what you mean! My wife used to give me sh*t for buying so many blurays, but now she'll ask me, "we have so-and-so on bluray, right?" And if I dont, she'll be disappointed and give me a confused expression! 
She just asked me while Boxing Day shopping if we had The BFG and I said no, we didn't.
