I also found this pic online with no more info. Maybe there was a secret release by Media Markt back then? But I have never heard of it either.

As far as I know Media Markt never released a Blade 1 steelbook. Thus this cannot be a legit release.

Blade is since 2000 still indexed in Germany. It was an "official" release from MM & Saturn and it couldn't be advertised in public for sale back then because of it just only on demand

No. It's an official release. I think what @Manqu Qhapaq is saying is that this title was indexed so wasn't advertised like the other 2 parts. Possibly only available through instore pick up?

As they are all the same finish wise, this will also be basic matte with no inside artwork.

Yeah, same here! Just ask for a picture of the back of the J-card. I think somebody offered me one of those back in the day and when I asked what edition this was, he backed out and never contacted me again. I'm not saying it ain't possible, but I went to Media Markt twice a week back in 2013 and I saw hundreds of Blade 2 and Blade Trinity steelbooks, but I've NEVER seen the Blade one - except from Canada and Japan!
