I am a 3D fan but I do appreciate editions containing all 3 Disks so I don't double dip.
There's still some 4K TVs that support 3D technology. Many bought earlier 4k models witch contains both 3D and 4K capability.
Sony in N/A does manufacture this year's 2017 Flagship Model which contains both 4K UHD and 3D as well.
Maybe the Czech Market does contain 4K UHD TVs being sold with 3D technology and maybe it is the reason why they are doing 3D packages with 4K UHD.
No matter what the reason is, I appreciate all 3 format on a premium edition.

So how do you decide which version to watch?

Yes I’m well aware of that, the release still isn’t until February
Group Buy for unnumbered editions can happen as soon as Film Arena list them live to order and when they give Karel GB quantities allocated
Look at these as the standard editions but just happen to be WEA and Karel been allocated stock for a Group Buy

You can pre order the unnumbered editions direct now from Film Arena or use the Group Buy

FAC editions the numbered editions are not yet listed on Film Arena or have a release date

I don’t understand why someone would want a 2D AND 3D disc next to the 4K disc!

well hmmm I speak for myself but currently like many(I assume) I have an HD 1080p Plasma Tv that can only Play 2D + 3D Disks but since I will have to purchase a 4K TV in the next couple of years I am Glad to have the option to add the 4K UHD disk to the mix so when time comes I will be able to rewatch it in 4K UHD

So how do you decide which version to watch?

Depends on my Mood, I have a TV like yours so I always end up watching 2D and 3D format.
4K UHD like you said for future proofers

I've always thought that too but if you read other threads for other releases, there are some people that are quite pissed that there is a choice between 4K or 3D. A lot of people seem to want the fully loaded package of 4K+3D+2D+Digital+Steelbook.

Alternate between versions when you watch them? And I didn't know there are 4K TV's that have 3D.

But then I'm still a 1080P plasma watcher.

It's good to have options, not all 4K and 3D are made the same, good example, Suicide Squad, 4K version is horrible, 2D is better and the 3D is great....
If 3D is done right, with more emphasis on depth rather than gotta jump out at you, then that can be quite enjoyable.
There also some great 4K transfers out there that are stunning, it is nice when a package includes all so I can choose what I like for each movie.
I went ahead and bought the 5A un-numbered, nowadays not interested in the numbered versions that will carry higher price tag, some of us are starting to get priced out of these options, the hardbox is going to be insane, maybe 3 times more....whew..going to be less hardboxes for me.

Ah OK. I didn't realize that owners of 3D TV's were future proofing as well with 4K but that does make a lot of sense.

I now see why 4K+3D+2D would be useful to people.

I can see clearly now. The rain is gone. Thank you for that! :)

Yes I have to move in my own place next year so the Plasma TV that I currently watch I will have to part ways with it :arghh:
I would repurchase the same HD 1080p Plasma TV if I could ! It is just such a great TV

I myself am not a future proofer. I don't have a 3D TV (never will) or a 4K TV (no plans to own one any time soon)

I would still buy just a blu-ray new release steelbook or a blu-ray/DVD new release steelbook if they were available anymore (less expensive)

So as it stands now I buy the 3D/2D editions (again because they are less expensive) even though I will never have any use for the 3D disc.

Seeing as how the GBs are up for the Steelbook says to me that the artwork has been approved. Bring on the booty shots for the other editions!

Oh Wow I hope you're right because that is the perfect steelbook and I don't want any changes to it.
Not even a slip.

I'm not usually interested in Photoshop-collage movie posters (and I do wish Ford didn't look so obviously stitched together in this one), but this steelbook is the best potential design I've seen for BR2049. The blending from front to back cover is really nicely done.

I'd like the four characters to be embossed, and the title to be debossed within them.

Yes just for the steelbook Unnumbered includes a Lenti Magnet
E5 A 4K + 3D + 2D
E5 B 3D +2D

If you want the numbered editions as in Full Slip or Lenti editions or hardbox edition with artcards and booklet and whatever else is included that will be a later group buy
E5 is usually the Maniacs Box

its outrageous there too. US is only $2 between BD+4k+digital $30 vs BD+DVD+digital $28. UK pricing will drop before release too

Sony’s Flagship TV, the Z9D is 4K with 3D.
And I go 3D over 4K if given the choice. (Upconversion on the TV is brilliant and 3D is the more interesting and rare option. I can always get the 4K disc down the road in an amaray....OR buy the E5 A - which I did!)
(And 3D + 4K makes more sense than 3D + Blu ray)

Is it the same steel but one has an empty tray because of no 4K disc? Because I’m pretty sure I can get a local 4K edition way cheaper down the line and add it to the 2D+3D to have the complete package for less money.

How was it for Spiderman? The exact steel interior or the 4K has an extra space?

Thank you
