This thread has been created to provide insight for folks trading and buying. Sometimes knowing that a guy/gal has some or MANY successful trades/sales is good peace of mind.

IF THE PERSON DOESN'T HAVE LOTS OF GOOD TRADER RATING FEEDBACK, AND YOU DONT KNOW THEM, THEN PRIVATE MESSAGE a Trading Moderator. We can try to get you the info you need to feel safe and or make a safe trade/purchase!

As we all know, trading is at your own risk. However, we are able to stop many deals from turning sour if you enable us. We have one bad person who has been a scam artist at many HT/Blu-ray sites besides ours.

The posts below are from when this was a Good Traders/Bad Traders list ... from the date this OP has been updated ... this thread will only serve as a Buyer Beware and Hall of Shame for those bad traders out there. If you need info on good traders view their trader rating under their avatar in the post bit (to the left) or PM a Mod.

I suggest you PM a mod for any deal over $75 if you dont know the person, regardless if they have 3 successful feedbacks etc. This is YOUR community as much as it is OURS, and we'll make the time everytime to make it as safe as possible for all.

Added 1/23/2012:

Just a general reminder - If you are experiencing difficulty with a trade at our site, feel free to contact a Trade Moderator, and we can provide suggestions on how to resolve the matter, if the trade took place at our site.

If, despite repeated attempts to resolve the trade/contact the trader, you do not receive any communication, or items, etc, please use the Feedback system in place at the site, or the rest of the community will not be aware of issues with traders. In addition, you have a limited time frame to file Paypal disputes, so please familiarize yourself with that process, just in case, to further protect yourself. In addition, the Staff will take action against accounts for repeat offenders if absolutely necessary.

Why would buyer need to send the box back to determine the weight? Basic common sense where the weight doesn’t add up.

If the steelbook was sent in a standard box the packaging would weigh between 150-200g.

If the proof of postage shows 350-400g and the buyer never stated I received boxes of chocolate instead then there is a weight discrepancy.

It’s a classic scam to do except the buyer has done it wrong and Shayid can have a case to defend the claim

Basic common sense doesn't prevail, proof is needed with the box being sent back.

Then weigh an identicle box with packaging and use a little common sense again. Photograph it and add it to the case

? If the buyer sends back the same box with the packaging + slip recorded then it's weighed and printed on the postage label. 200g or so difference between what was sent. This would be facts to be forwarded to eBay.

The buyer doesn’t need to send the box back. This is a claim of item not received in a box. Not a returned item without the steelbook where the seller claims the buyer didn’t return the steelbook but an empty box.

You are forwarding evidence, NOT facts. That’s where you get confused. We don’t deal with facts lol. Where is the facts that the buyer didn’t receive his item? That’s not facts. It’s his evidence.

Hi Guys,

Anyone sold to matthemallar-71on eBay??

He claims to have received GOTH 1/4 slip without the steelbook.

The item was sent via recorded delivery .

I'm not sure what to do as he's opened a retuen request added photos and claims the steelbook wasn't inside.

Any help?
The buyer is literally complaining you sent an empty box or am I missing something lol?? What exactly was the sale for?

eBay never side with the seller. I wont be using it again, too many scammers and too heavy a bias towards buyers.

Well, I would ask the buyer to send back the slip and packaging signed for so I have the recorded weight. I'm guessing the seller has to do a refund and claim against Royal Mail.

You can ask the buyer to return the box but the buyer does not have to and I very much doubt he would.

RM refund the seller? The item or parcel was delivered. What would the compensation be, lost delivery when it was delivered? Or RM nicking the steelbook lol

They will mostly side with buyers. That’s the sad reality. If they don’t then it gives Ebay and PP a bad name for not protecting buyers which is where their money is made from their fees, and then they are subject to chargeback complaints from their bank even if they don’t side with buyer. So there’s potentially two hurdles to come across.

Once a case is opened you know pretty well you are fighting a losing battle most of the times.

That’s the risk of selling...

Ask @lgans316 he will tell you about it :p

From experience as a seller I sent everything tracked recorded delivery. On the 2 times someone tried to make a claim they lost because I could prove the item was delivered to their door. One idiot tried to say they never got the item and I could clearly show someone had signed for it at their address.

Things become more complicated when the buyer says the item isn't as described. It's all very well and good proving you've delivered something to an address but that's irrelevant when the buyer claims it's incorrect / empty etc. It's a shame such a great platform for selling has been undone by its own stupid rules.

I always take detailed photos that are not displayed on eBay usually beside a paper from that day and use them on the rare times I’ve had a despute One guy tried to bring in the police but my evidence for the item was beyond despute and the police cautioned the person for wasting their time and I then had a serious pop at eBay why they let it get that far when they had already settled the despute in my favour In other words why did the police ever come near me when eBay themselves made it clear the buyer was at fault

I always take photos of all inbound and outbound packages and keep proof of posting receipts for 3 months as we never know when someone would start making a random claim.

eBay seldom sides with the sellers. FACT. Sellers must have ample time, energy, and the mood to fight tooth and nail to win. Such a shame as besides these stupid fundamental flaws, eBay is a good platform to buy and sell.

Yeah, PayPal are a joke when it comes to sellers. I had a guy from the Star Wars Force Awakens Blufans GB who claimed he never received the two he bought. Tracking showed that he received both of them, and he even told me in PM that he received both of them......he then filed a claim for both and despite me showing PayPal the tracking numbers, etc they still sided with him and got him a full refund on both!

Needless to say, he's been banned from both the forums and my GBs, but it just goes to show how useless PayPal are in those kinds of situations.

That's ridiculous. I'd report the prick for fraud. There must be some kind of regulator for PayPal as they aren't above the law / evidence.

Believe me mate had they been in the UK I would’ve done as I could’ve investigated it too ;)

Are you serious, from the GB on HDN? That is just completely retarded!

I think you should name and shame this thief.
