This thread has been created to provide insight for folks trading and buying. Sometimes knowing that a guy/gal has some or MANY successful trades/sales is good peace of mind.

IF THE PERSON DOESN'T HAVE LOTS OF GOOD TRADER RATING FEEDBACK, AND YOU DONT KNOW THEM, THEN PRIVATE MESSAGE a Trading Moderator. We can try to get you the info you need to feel safe and or make a safe trade/purchase!

As we all know, trading is at your own risk. However, we are able to stop many deals from turning sour if you enable us. We have one bad person who has been a scam artist at many HT/Blu-ray sites besides ours.

The posts below are from when this was a Good Traders/Bad Traders list ... from the date this OP has been updated ... this thread will only serve as a Buyer Beware and Hall of Shame for those bad traders out there. If you need info on good traders view their trader rating under their avatar in the post bit (to the left) or PM a Mod.

I suggest you PM a mod for any deal over $75 if you dont know the person, regardless if they have 3 successful feedbacks etc. This is YOUR community as much as it is OURS, and we'll make the time everytime to make it as safe as possible for all.

Added 1/23/2012:

Just a general reminder - If you are experiencing difficulty with a trade at our site, feel free to contact a Trade Moderator, and we can provide suggestions on how to resolve the matter, if the trade took place at our site.

If, despite repeated attempts to resolve the trade/contact the trader, you do not receive any communication, or items, etc, please use the Feedback system in place at the site, or the rest of the community will not be aware of issues with traders. In addition, you have a limited time frame to file Paypal disputes, so please familiarize yourself with that process, just in case, to further protect yourself. In addition, the Staff will take action against accounts for repeat offenders if absolutely necessary.

You could report it to the police where you'd be given a crime number and that would be about it. If both parties were in the UK you'd get a better response and perhaps some form of resolution.

So pretty much a waste of time. Sad really when a major selling company like ebay treats such bad traders lightly.

Yep, pretty much. Police don't have the time to investigate this kind of crime unfortunately. @sunnyx could try contacting the Greek police to see if they would be willing to pursue it.

I agree though, eBay as a company have a very poor stance on issues like this and because the scammers know they can get away with it this is why they do it.

If you did report it to the police as theft of goods and money and gave eBay the crime number, surely they would have to consider siding with the seller?

You could try it but as far as eBay are concerned they have ‘reveiwed’ the case and have concluded it.

From experience as a seller I sent everything tracked recorded delivery. On the 2 times someone tried to make a claim they lost because I could prove the item was delivered to their door. One idiot tried to say they never got the item and I could clearly show someone had signed for it at their address.
My wife had the same experience with a signed for purchase she sent to a buyer. The buyer waited a month then said the item never arrived despite having signed for it. Needless to say they didn't get very far with their false claims.........

here's how useless ebay is.

i sent a package like a year ago and the buyer said nothing was in it at all. ebay of course sided with buyer ... I lost money and item.
the same ebayer then did this exact same scam to another member of HDN who contacted me and they told me that ebay now sided with the HDN seller. Why? Cause they now had history in that I was screwed and the ebayer was doing exact same thing. Did ebay think we should contact the original seller( me) and make things right? and refund me? No.... they didnt. I contacted them explaining all of this and showing the proof of their actions in how they now refunded this 2nd seller (HDN member) and now that you obviously realize who the scammer was shouldnt you refund me? .... They said too late. and only a manager could make that call ... i talk to manager and they said nope too late. all within 60 days, the scams etc.

worthless

Do what I had to do 5 years ago I called the police It worked wonders for me and the fraudster concerned was done and eBay got a warning from the police for failing to take my complaint seriously Took a year to get sorted but it was sorted

Well I thought my luck would turn around but I now have a potential scammer that I am currently dealing with. Same story as before - item not received and it was for a birthday present for a friend..........etc etc.........

Story does not add up. Needless to say, eBay will eventually refund him if I don't but I'm trying to establish if he is dishonest buyer making dishonest claims.

Interesting one as the Buyer is a experienced eBay user since 2009, UK based, a buyer and a seller.

Will keep you updated......:(

Warning Alert!

Potential scammer alert for UK eBay ID: emmaselina76
His story has made no sense, lied on eBay and contradticted his story and failed to answer any of my questions that are relevant. Now he is threatening me with negative feedback. This is a warning alert for now. I have let this buyer know I have posted this and ready to share to the whole community of these fraudulent claims.

I am awaiting to hear back if he can answer any of my questions. If he cannot and he refuses to do so tells me for sure he is a scammer.

Will update...
