Cinema run's scared of intelligent 18 rated movies. They appere only comfortable when an 18 is a mindless boobs out slasher flick.

Dredd is hardly an intelligent film. It's a standard action flick.

I cant remember what the last mindless boobs out slasher flick was. Friday the 13th (2009)?

Showing my age then thire sweetheart , Pharranha 3DD . That was a slasher with fish and bits . I meant films like Hostel , Eden Lake the violence out weighing the story .

Dredd was violence on violence the story was so well thought out kept moving with a skillful mix of paceing and susspence .

Dont think I will ever tire of this visualisation of Dredd . Getting a bit fed up waiting for the Art Zavvi pull your finger out PRITTY PRITTY PLEASE .

Since the internet, no one sees a movie because of boobs anymore. Believe it or not, in the 80s and early 90s, it was a big deal to see boobage in a movie. Unless you rented porn or looked a skin mags, a teenager's 'Boob Central' was the R-rated slashers and wacky spring break/school comedies(Porky's, Private Resort). It's kinda sad that those kinda movies are gone!

I agree @Scary Hair, there's a lot of subtext and underlying themes if one cares to dig a little at the surface of Dredd.

Something that makes the film so re-watchable!

I feel a bit like this at the moment

Even though I KNOW I WILL KEEP looking everytime someone posts because I NEEDS IT I TELL YOU I NEEDS IT !!!!.

The fact that Anderson is a fail end of with Dredd , she stands up for herself gaining his trust winning his respect.

He will not compromise his faith in right and wrong . The underlining simmering darkness that you know is nipping at his heals.

Ma Ma who thinks a way to prevail IS brutality .

Yhea loads thire and hardly any digging needed @Ashisarobot just a small insignificant scratch and you are immersed .

While we're sharing musical inspiration, @Scary Hair, I wish someone would cut this song with a Dredd trailer, with emphasis on Anderson's journey-I would, but my Web-Phoo is rubbish!

Dredd does commit a few 'movie sins'...like the voiceover at the start, and the guy in the med centre giving a Judge (of all people) a history lesson on how MaMa and her group took over Peachtrees and are making / distributing SloMo.

But as they say, no movie is without sin. I think Dredd is great, even better in 3D.
