Square Enix and Obsidian reveal Dungeon Siege 3
Square Enix announced today it is partnering with Obsidian Entertainment on Dungeon Siege 3 for the PlayStation 3, PC, and Xbox 360. The title will also feature “input from the original developer, Gas Powered Games.” Dungeon Siege 3 marks the first iteration in the series to land on high-def consoles.
The game will feature an all-new co-op multiplayer mode in the action-RPG genre. Mixed with intuitive action gameplay and an extensive RPG system, players will be immersed in a world where decisions matter.
Dungeon Siege was originally created by Chris Taylor and his studio Gas Powered Games. Taylor will work as advisor during the game’s development.
On his involvement, Taylor comments, "It's a great pleasure to collaborate with Obsidian. They are a very talented developer who really knows what it takes to build a deep and engaging RPG experience, and I can't think of a better group to continue the Dungeon Siege series."
Other features include several unique and highly customizable character classes, the ability to recruit companions with unique personalities and abilities,
