Agreed. It was quite dry. Pretty surprising with some of the names involved--Gyllenhaal, Knightley, Brolin, Watson, Clarke--they still couldn't overcome the boring screenplay.

I watched the movie in 3d at the cinema but i can't remember any 3d scenes that stood out. It seemed that the film was more focused on how hard it is to get on that mountain and come back
