I'm assuming that there's been some sort of delay or second thoughts on this one, given that it was scheduled for release next Monday (20th November), but hasn't even gone live yet to pre-order!

Your right thought we would have heard something by Now, hopefully they will rethink the pop art
Love the movie but the pop art is awful. Lucky the lost in translation release has great art

Hopefully a complete redesign. As it stands this design is only good for mentally scarring small children.

I think the back and inside is lovely, the front is completely off par though which is a shame.

I've pre-ordered it though cause this could be the only chance of owning this fantastic film as a steelbook.

I'll never understand this "I don't really like the steelbook but I'm buying it day one anyway" mentality. Don't reward them with sales for such a horrendous design. It's not like it's going to sell out, I mean just look at it!!! I guarantee this be be £7.99 in a few months.

. . . and this unloved - and many consider unlovely - steelbook unsealed in all its modest glory . . . pics courtesy raingoat / sujahta0216 :-
(and, no, I don't think it looks at all bad in a simple, naive kind of way . . . colours are pleasant and not many orange steelbooks on the shelves, that's for sure).

Picking a small image from the front artwork and reproducing it in big on the back seems to be a trend on some of these . . . with at least 3 other examples I can think of.
