Zombies have been chewing their way through cinemas since White Zombie was released in 1932 (but zombies didn't get popular until Romero's Night of the Living Dead in 1968)

Romero's Dawn of the Dead is easily Numero Uno on my list of zombie flicks. Next would be Shaun of the Dead followed by Day of the Dead.
