If it is deluxe...if you read about it- FBDO has TONS of unused footage laying around somewhere. On the commentary they talk about all the scenes that got pulled at the last moment. They said there is a good HOUR more of this movie, as the rough cut was 3 hours long!!!
It's the same story with The Breakfast Club. Unfortunately, I highly doubt those longer versions will ever see the light of day. I believe John Hughes' family controls his estate and since he never wanted to release them, I doubt they will either. I really wish he had done more audio commentaries! I believe the only one he did was on the original DVD version of Ferris. It's not even included on the Blu-Ray
I agree wholeheartedly.
John Hughes was a very rare commodity.
Am auteur who never put a foot wrong. In Hollywood terms that is tantmount to finding the goose that lays the golden eggs.
His work should rightly be revered.
With the last 80's zavvi steelbook (Teen Wolf for exemple) we can dream of this one
