Not a fan of the type of artwork on the front of this steelbook where the image is not contained within the frame but it's still a "must buy" for me and hoping it will magically look OK in the flesh. Cut off artwork or artwork that would have looked better had it been wraparound is always disappointing to me but not a deal breaker.

Yes, wouldn't be surprised if a lenticular "Finding Dory" steelbook rears its head in a few months and that's fine too. In truth I'd be very surprised if it didn't considering how well it did at the box office (domestic total to date of almost USD 500,000,000M and worldwide of over USD 1B, sitting #7 in the All Time Domestic (U.S.) Box Office with other Disney big hitters such as "The Lion King" sitting at # 16, "Frozen" at #24 and "Finding Nemo" at #26).
Looking forward to a lenticular edition and I'll buy that one too as it'll hopefully have front artwork more pleasing to my eyes.
Admit to preferring the original mock-up artwork and as it's no longer going to be used on the 3D Amaray edition (still used on the regular 2D edition though) it would have been nice to see it or something very similar to it on the front of the steelbook:-

Which titles are going to receive the lenticular steelbook treatment? My guess would include this bunch

Looks well balanced with artwork equally busy on both sides unlike those certain Marvel releases where it's just the logo on the back masquerading as artwork.

Taking a leaf out of the "Sausage Party" steelbook artwork with front and spine the same colour and back different . . . something I'm not overly keen on.

Admittedly not really my favourite front artwork and I prefer the flowing anti-clockwise artwork of #1 but I can see why they went with the poster design they went with as Dory isn't so obviously on view as on there and "Finding Dory" becomes almost a "Where's Wally" type situation.

The back, however, should look totally gorgeous in a Gloss varnish to make the very best of those bright, vivid colours.

My preferred poster artwork . . . the almost chosen poster artwork

Not many pretty, pretty poster designs for this film around but I do like this one with the blue and violet which I feel would have been a better match colour-wise for the back artwork :-

. . . but looking at it again it's maybe too blue and samey and lacking the vibrancy of the yellows . . .
