I've Just watched Mark Kermode's review on this and listened to Simon Mayo's interview with Steve Carell and this sound's interesting and I gotta say PLAIN are going to do a great job with this, I know they do with everything but this seems like a great fit IMO.

Well I suppose someone has to listen to that idiot Kermodes opinion lol [emoji23]

Love that they're doing a release for this. It's absolutely not for everybody - I personally love it for the performances but it's definitely a slow burn.

Part of why I like PA so much is that their film choices tend to be more niche and interesting, I'd honestly be really disappointed if they went full blown mainstream with Disney/Marvel releases...there's plenty of those for everybody to freak out over (myself included ). Besides, with these kinds of releases PA seems to have much more flexibility in regards to the design vs the hoops BluFans/HDZeta have to jump through to get anything approved by Disney/WB/Dreamworks/etc.

The Wrestler and now Foxcatcher. Sounds like PA has a hard-on for wrestling!

Their choice of titles seems odd to me.
Yeah. Whoever chooses titles at PLAIN has very odd choices of films. I'm not saying they are bad choices. Just really odd choices. Like, I wouldn't be surprised if all of a sudden they were putting out Todd Haynes, Atom Egoyan, and Hal Hartley stuff. (But, on the other hand, I would love Whit Stillman steelbooks!). PA are esoteric-and that's cool...

Is that not a matter of opinion? I don't find their choices odd. They are just not mainstream choices, that's all. I am thankful for a company like PA that favour the films I prefer.

I said they were esoteric choices. I'm cool with PA. And art by its very nature is subjective. It's all a matter of opinion. Maybe I'm just a little off because they haven't made an edition of any of the esoteric movies I enjoy!
