Ghibli Mondo needs to happen!

Mondo X Steelbook is one of the greatest steelbook series currently, and to make it even better they need to release a Studio Ghibli steelbook! Possibly with two editions: English and Japanese title. After that my life will be complete (until the next release).

I would absolutely love that! I am a huge Studio Ghibli fan, however, I think their titles are still considered a specialized market and I don't think the North American blu ray distributors (Disney, Universal) have any interest in steelbook releases for such a limited market and to be honest, I don't think they benefit much from it. Lets face it, it is all business, if there is very little to gain, they won't bother.

All is not lost though, there have been UK steelbook releases for studio ghibli fans looking for an alternative. But, I must say, I love the Japaneses studio ghibli blu-ray releases, they aren't steelbooks, but they are quite nice. I only have a couple because they are super expensive, but they are gems.

Thought some of my fellow Ghibli fans may be interested to know Disney has announced today it will finally be releasing 'Spirited Away' and 'The Cat Returns' on blu-ray in North America. Release date is still unknown, probably in the next 3 or 4 months is my guess. Pre-order has gone live on Amazon.

I'm already double dipping on Studio Ghibli Blu Rays, but definitely do not mind triple dipping if there are Mondo x Steelbooks x Studio Ghibli releases. Love Studio Ghibli Films and love Mondo arts, this would be like a dream come true! Would also be nice if there are more Studio Ghibli arts from Mondo. One can only keep hoping...
