Please be good... please!!! And I'm maybe one of the rare, but I think Reynold did a great job on the first one, it's just the story/enemy/CGI that were poor.

From SDCC 2015:
At Warner Bros.' Hall H panel earlier today, a highlight reel was shown featuring concept art and title treatments for each of the upcoming DC Comics adptations. While it wasn't discussed at the panel itself, the imagery shown confirmed that the planned Green Lantern reboot will be titled Green Lantern Corps. That seems to line up with reports that the movie is going to focus on two or more human members of that band of space cops, but is Chris Pine playing Green Lantern or not?

MTV seems to think so, as they reveal that he was featured in the reel which was shown. However, they're unsure of whether that relates to Green Lantern as it could be that what they saw was instead an image of the Star Trek actor as Steve Trevor.

Great news... but this movie is only slated for 2020... 5 freaking years...

Chris Pine was offered a role in Wonder Woman and is being considered fro Green Lantern. Why they don't just offer him Green Lantern I do not know. He can't accept the Wonder Woman role if Green Lantern is a possibility.

A new report claims some familiar faces and big names are in the mix to play Hal Jordan in Green Lantern Corps., Warner Bros.' big screen version of the DC comic slated for a 2020 release.

According to TheWrap, the studio's "shortlist" to play Jordan includes Ryan Reynolds, Tom Cruise, Community's Joel McHale, Bradley Cooper, Armie Hammer, and Jake Gyllenhaal.
Yes, Ryan Reynolds, who already played Hal Jordan in the 2011 Green Lantern movie...

The site claims, though, that the "casting process is still in the very early stages, and there are no talks with any of the actors as of yet."

  • Ryan Reynolds (40)
  • Tom Cruise (54)
  • Bradley Cooper (42)
  • Jake Gyllenhaal (36)
  • Armie Hammer (30)
  • Joel McHale (45)
Any of these actors interest you in playing Hal? Would you give Reynolds another shot at it?
The only thing nice about have Reynolds reprising his role is that you save A LOT of time not having to "set it up" and can just jump right in.

•Ryan Reynolds (40) = Reynolds is a perfect CBM guy. Proof with Deadpool & Blade. Personnally, in the first GL, all my grips were all for the rest of the movie and Nothing for him. Bad CGI, Bad script, Terrible vilain, etc...
•Tom Cruise (54) = I'm a TC fan. Big fan of his movie, let's not talk outside of movies please... So... why no?
•Bradley Cooper (42) = Real decent actor. But as he's already commited to Guardians of the Galaxy and knowing how Marvel/Disney works... don't think this could happen right?
•Jake Gyllenhaal (36) = The real actor of the bunch. Could work
•Armie Hammer (30) = The best that would fit the job description. Knowing how bad the DC universe is going, no big moviestar will attach himself to it... so for him, seems like it could work out especially after that fiasco that Lone Ranger was... and he fits perfectly the look
•Joel McHale (45) = no idea who's that?

They're idiots to even consider Reynolds again... dude is probably laughing his ass off right now, and rightly so! I agree that Hammer is by far the best choice... the others are pretty weak, and not because they're not great actors, but because they just wouldn't suit the role at all IMO.
