Response from ES about the finish they are going for on this release:
There’s an emboss on the title treatment, gloss varnish on the front, cutting out the characters and a dull varnish covering the back.

The red text and red image on the back is also a pantone red, which should be a bright pillar box red.

Ive ordered two to ensure i get a mint one for my ocd mind! If the first one i open and unwrap is mint ill sell the other sealed for cost on here

While the price is high, i see the amaray is £18 on Amazon :O blu rays are going up in price automatically now as DVDs are becoming less popular

Haha, wow. I find out more mental things about the collectors as each day goes by.

I am sure this will go on forever, the crazy habits of collectors (including myself) will never stop :hilarious:

For anyone wondering when they will be charged for this, I emailed Luke and he responded with the following:

" Hi Richie

We'll be taking payment for this on Monday 17th June - 1 week before release.

Regards,

Luke

I would say pre-order this now as it will be sold out by Friday without a doubt. If you change your mind then you can just cancel - If you don't order it then you won't have this option once it has sold out - which it will!! ;)

They do not take payment upfront.
They just take your card details and do a verification check. I pre-ordered Jack REACHER but on the day, I failed to put money in, so that's how my stupid jack reacher got cancelled!

OK I could be hanged for saying this but here goes.

Businesses that offer steel packaging need to charge a premium if they are to stay solvent. Evidenced by the OCD nature of most of us, losses are suffered anytime a return is initiated. Most of us should be happy there are new players like ES in the mix. Even though play never said so I think part of their failure was that prices were too cheap. Good for the consumer but bad for play. Zavvi are charging 50% more for every release. That is awesome considering the premium nature of the product. Good luck to ES in this new venture.

Steelbooks were only a tiny portion of Play's inventory. And as for pricing, play.com were usually more expensive than amazon.uk in most departments.

I have a question for you. - If you're going to charge £27 for a "premium product", why leave out content such as the 3D version of the film?

Surely Premium = Definitive, no?
