Mind you I would have prefered the better and original version (The Departed) was done properly first. Before this very well made remake.

Lol, mate. Infernal Affairs is the original. Departed was the remake. And to think that Martin Scorsese never won a Best Director Oscar until he made this remake - goes to show how good the original must have been. ;)

How come I saw Departed like a year old two before Internal Affairs.

 
Infernal Affairs was released in Asia in 2002. Probably didn't make it to the west until after The Departed in 2006, which then brought attention to the original. That's my guess. :)
 
i also have both, had to decide lately which one to sell (as i try to minimize doubles in my collection) but could not decide because both look amazing. so i'm keeping both. :D
