In the early 2000s, I read and loved every moment of Alias, the Marvel MAX series about a young P.I. named Jessica Jones. I'm soooo happy that the success of her show on Netflix has lead to this... the original creative team of Alias are back!

It's been no secret that one of 2015 breakout characters from Marvel's Cinematic Universe was waiting for her creators to bring her back to prominence in the comics. And today it became official: Jessica Jones is back.

Marvel announced a new ongoing "Jessica Jones" series from creators Brian Michael Bendisand Michael Gaydos, alongside cover artist David Mack. The trio previously worked on "Alias," the Marvel series that brought the character into fans' lives in 2001.

"We're going to open up a book where Jessica's world has blown up in her face," Bendis teased of the new, ongoing series in an announcem, ent interview with IGN. "She's at a place you'll least expect her. You're going to find all of her relationships have altered. And we're slowly going to find out why. I do like writing Jessica where we have to figure out 'why this has happened."

Demand for a new Jessica Jones comic intensified last year as her Netflix TV series put a new spotlight on the character, though Marvel indicated that they were waiting for Bendis' plan for the character at least as far back as C2E2 this spring. Bendis himself declared that a new book would be on the way from her original creators this year at ECCC, and it appears that this announcement puts a period on the wait.

"Jessica Jones" arrives in October from Bendis, Gaydos and Mack.
