Read about this earlier this morning

Also heard there will be a human traffic sequel with returning cast :woot:
I took no interest in it until I saw NWR was involved lol.

Oh, nice! Been a long time since I last watched the first film... must give it a rewatch before the sequel is out.

Hah, I only heard when he was attached to the remake

The same mate, been years and years, It might of even been in the last stage of my teens when I last see it. Got it somehere on DVD

I've got a thing for dyer too and he was amazing in that. When he falls alseep on the porn line lol

Even Rick grimes is in it

If you get the chance (and you find dyer funny) check out his James Bond dubbing. He does about 6 in total, all about 15/20 seconds long and they are hilarious

Maniac Cop is a classic, I'm not sure they could do it justice! I loved Human Traffic aswell, I'm still waiting for a Blu-Ray release of that! I would be interested to see what they would do with a remake.

I honestly can't remember the last time I saw it... must have been back in my school days when it was shown on TV. I can't even remember much about the film if I'm honest... I just remember finding it hilarious.

I literally just saw one of Dyer's dubbing videos yesterday... it was a Rosie & Jim one and had me in stitches lol. Didn't know he'd done more of them though, so will go look for the Bond ones now. Cheers!

Whaat? Didn't know he has done Rosie and Jim. Something tells me he's done a few different ones then

I'll check them out

I find him sooo funny. 2 of my mates who lived together years ago had a shrine to him in their toilet lol with a signed framed photo of him staring at you whilst you have a slash lol, so random

anyway another mate bumped into him when he went to see West Ham play years back and showed him photos. Apparently he loved it and was a little freaked out lol

Also about 2/3 years ago he went to a premier for one of his last film at my local cinema (the one that costs £2.50 a film and is 5 mins from my door) and did a Q&A after lol brilliant

I reakon its at least 10 years since I seen human traffic.

Looks like he's done loads mate... just come across his Harry Potter one which has to be my favourite so far. Haha that is very random... think it'd put me off having him staring down at me lol. Yeah, he's a proper lads lad... I imagine no day would be dull with him around. Shame most of his films are crap though - except for The Business... love that film!

Oh I've got to check out the potter ones

Yeah the way he expresses himself just has me in fits. Love it when he's on celebrity juice, 8 out of 10 cats, cats does countdown and would I lie to you. He's always 10/10 comedy

His more recent films are crap.
Human traffic, football factory, the business, severence, goodbye Charlie bright, mean machine, malice in wonderland, doghouse, outlaw and vendetta were all pretty good especially the first 4 I mentioned and he's good in them, favourites being severence, football factory and the business

Malice in wonderland is a cool strange dark take on the Alice in wonderland story set in London. Outlaw is with Sean bean and vendetta was quite crazy and he basically becomes the dark knight/ Bruce Wayne without the money lol ( if you ever watch it you will understand at the end)

Yeah the shrine was kinda a joke at the time and more stuff kept getting added. All started when they went out to buy a new coffee table and came back with a signed framed picture of him lol

Quite excited about this Maniac Cop remake. Loved the original and the sequels (MC2 especially!)

John Hyams did a fantastic job on UniSol 3 & 4 IMHO

Also a fan of Human Traffic as well lol.

“Maniac Cop,” a modern adaptation of William Lustig’s 1988 cult classic that Nicolas Winding Refn and his partner Lene Børglum are producing, is set to shoot this summer in Los Angeles, with Wild Bunch on board to handle world sales.

Paul Brett at London-based Prescience MA’s Merlin Funds has come on board to finance the pic, which is being produced by Refn and Børglum’s Copenhagen-set banner Space Rocket Nation, along with Bold Films.

“Maniac Cop” was penned by Ed Brubaker (“Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Angel of Death”) in collaboration with Refn, and will be helmed by John Hyams (“Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning”).

Set in the present, “Maniac Cop” follows a determined L.A. police officer who sets out to reveal the truth about the brutal murders of innocent people by one of her fellow cops. Casting for the film is underway.

Lustig and Refn, who have known each others for many years, are serving as creative producers on “Maniac Cop.”

Børglum told Variety that “Maniac Cop” will not be a pure horror film but rather a contemporary and realistic action thriller. Børglum said that the long-gestating project took several years to get off the ground because it took some time to secure the film rights, find the right director and partners, and get the financing in place. Christopher Woodrow’s Vendian Entertainment was previously involved in the film.

Although Refn will be creatively involved in the film, “Maniac Cop” will showcase Hyams’ directing style. “The reason why we wanted to work with John Hyams is because we love his visual style and his ability to work extremely well on a limited budget,” Børglum said.

“Maniac Cop” will mark the third collaboration between Refn and Wild Bunch, which handled international sales on “Only God Forgives” and “The Neon Demon,” both of which competed at the Cannes Film Festival.

Interested to see what they do with this with NWR attached to the project. I still can't see if being a patch on the original though!
