Maze Runner star Dylan O'Brien suffered multiple injuries and broken bones when he was hit by a car on the set of Maze Runner: The Death Cure.

20th Century Fox has released the following statement on the accident:

"Dylan O'Brien was injured yesterday while filming Maze Runner: The Death Cure in Vancouver, Canada. He was immediately transferred to a local hospital for observation and treatment. Production on the film will be shut down while he recovers. Our thoughts go out to Dylan for a full and speedy recovery"

Both Variety and TMZ report that O'Brien, 24, was hit by a vehicle in a scene gone horribly awry. The nature of how the accident happened has not yet been revealed.

'Death Cure' has been delayed indefinitely to allow Dylan O’Brien to make a full recovery.

Production on 20th Century Fox‘s Maze Runner: The Death Cure has been delayed indefinitely today to allow leading man Dylan O’Brien to make a full recovery from the injuries he sustained during a tragic on set accident last month. Thankfully, the star appears to be on the road to a full recovery but it is expected to take somewhat longer than the initial six-week estimate. As such, the planned February 17, 2017 release for Death Cure has been cancelled with a new release date expected to be announced shortly.

Nice to see they are still committed to making it. It would be a shame if the injury had stopped the film franchise from being complete. Hope he recovers from it soon.
