I really like the franchise tho. They just need some better scripts. Depp hasnt been all too great, but does wonderful in these roles.

Well, I mean, of course...It will always have a punchers chance IF they have a great script! But 3 and 4 were pretty soulless and empty (for me). And I even felt like they tried to make a lateral move and make another Pirates movie under the guise of The Lone Ranger. (Really...it IS a POTC movie.).
I don't root for bad movies, so – here's hoping it's good. (but the odds are not good...)

This so far (I know it's not much to go by) looks better than the awful 4th film. If this is any good it will replace that film for me.
Won't even get the steel of the 4th to complete the current set

3rd isn't great but 1 is fantastic and I enjoyed the second thanks to Bill.
Depp seriously need to up his game though, sparrow is great character and shines best in the first (even went as an amazing fancy dress of him when the 1st one came out) but they over do sparrows accidental plans and stupidity that get him out of trouble!

I think this looks promising! I'm a HUGE Pirates fan so I'm definitely looking forward to this!
