Title may be misleading. I'm slowly ripping all my blu-rays to mkv. I have 3 different Hot Fuzz steelbooks, I don't need 3 different mkvs. I want to choose the copy that has the best picture quality. Is there a place that would compare or a way to tell other than popping each disc in and comparing shot by shot?

According to Blu-ray.com:

Canadian:
Video
Codec: VC-1
Resolution: 1080p
Aspect ratio: 2.35:1
Original aspect ratio: 2.39:1

UK:
Video

Codec: VC-1 (21.20 Mbps)
Resolution: 1080p
Aspect ratio: 2.35:1
Original aspect ratio: 2.39:1

USA:
Video

Codec: VC-1 (25.57 Mbps)
Resolution: 1080p
Aspect ratio: 2.35:1
Original aspect ratio: 2.39:1

But that doesn't necessarily mean anything to me.

Capsaholic would be best. You could also find a wreath of info over at blu ray dot com but it hidden amongst all the endless trolling and bickering and arguing between members.

At the moment though, higher bitate would indicate a slightly better PQbut all depends on how the disc was authored and source transfer. I would go out on a limb and say because it's Universal that released it in both U.K. and USA, it should be more or less the same transfer but I only have the UK version so can't compare
