This, Jackie Brown, Kill bill and Django have recently been released/ announced. I'd love zavvi to redo play.com's pulp fiction without the rating logos aswell as a Inglourious Basterds, Death Proof and Grindhouse to complete a UK set of films directed by Tarantino :scat:

Or maybe a change of artwork similar to the Jackie brown one, maybe something like.

I think a few need to put this into perspective. This release is still better than probably 90% of catalogue Steelbooks released elsewhere in the World. It doesn't have a printed back, banner, ratings or uneccesary text and it does have inside artwork. It's also not a Metalpak which is a worry of mine considering how Metalpaks seem to have infested other markets recently. Yes this probably isn't worth £14.99 and I wouldn't pay that myself, but it's not a complete disaster as some are suggesting.

I dislike the front artwork, it does look cheap to me.. but I 100% agree with everything you said.. and its good to think of all of this steels positive points. For me I think the price tag was just too high and the front artwork wasn't worth what I paid, never liked it but had to keep the set up to date. I do like the back, I am a fan of filling the page and no credits.. zavvi did half a good job imo, also with zavvi we know what they're capable of accepting for their final artwork, roger rabbit, nemo, gonnies to name a few and I think thats where the problem lies, I only paid £1.99 more for nemo and got an amazing steelbook. . I know they can't all be amazing but knowing what they can do and what arrived on our doorsteps today. . Just a little disappointing. I'm sure we'll all get over the disappointment tomorrow and will be thinking about the next one we're going to get in the post. :D

Ps.. I think your post should be put on every steelbook thread on the day of its release cos it is nice to read about all the stuff that no one likes or wants on their steelbooks so that we can appreciate the fact that it could be a lot worse:thumbs:

Would have preferred if it was the advertised white, but quite happy with this, nice to add it to the Tarantino steel collection! :D

Go this today - really poor effort in my opinion.....
About as basic as a steelbook gets...princess bride is the same

Zavvi need to sort it out!

I don't have mine in hand yet but looking at the pictures, I think it looks pretty damn good. Only negative I can come up with is the fact that the same scene was used for the back and the inside, but other than that, I really like the way this looks.

The cover art is the original U.S home video art (which I prefer to the theatrical one sheet), so I can't imagine anything more ideal (especially considering the lame covers the amarays are stuck with currently). The back looks really good, in both the background texture and the image used. I even like the use of the interior art, with Mr. Orange on the ramp underneath the disc.

Can't wait to get mine. White might have been nice, but I think I'd end up preferring the silver approach considering the finish quality of most "white" steels these days.

I found my old DVD copy today and it puts this to shame. I should of just bought the blu-ray cheap and put it in this.
