Memory specialist SanDisk has created an SD card with 512 gigabytes (512GB) of storage space - the highest capacity ever released.

It's hard for me to believe they can actually fit that much space on that small a card these days. I use the microSD cards a lot more for my media players and such and even they are up to I believe 128 GB now.
 
I needed to buy a large capacity flash card so I looked into this one, Jeez! Three places sell them right now and there running around $799 and believe it or not, all three places are sold out. :wtf: Not that I was going to actually pay that much for one so I opted to get the next best one and with a different brand.

I went with the 256gb PNY over at Amazon for $109. I plan on using it as a small drive on my Ultrabook. I've never had a flash card with a capacity larger than 32gb so this will be a large jump for me. :D
 
That's a really good price for that size PNY pal , the 128 gb is around £90 over here and over the years I've used a lot of sd cards and in my experience I've found PNY a lot more reliable than sandisk.
