One of Disney's new year's resolutions should be finishing their series of animated classics on steelbook. Such a shame that the last handful never got to be part of this collection. I realise that the missing titles aren't exactly their most popular (or profitable) films - but man, Disney were really nailing it with this series before it ran out of steam (by which I mean the original run of glossy steels, not the lenticular re-releases).
The resurrection of this steelbook collection remains firmly at the top of my wish list. Let's see what 2018 brings.

Bolt and Atlantis are two of the titles I think could sell reasonably well, if done right.

Atlantis? Really? Isn't it one of the most panned animated films Disney has made? Certainly of the "modern" era?

Or were you talking more along the lines of simply based on what the Steelbook art quality could be?

Good question. I'm not a huge fan of Atlantis myself but some of the more stylised posters for the film seem like a good fit for the steelbook format and might help to shift some copies. There are definitely fans of Atlantis on this forum - it's been mentioned quite a few times in this thread and it came in at number 10 on the HDN poll here:

https://www.hidefninja.com/communit...your-disney-pixar-steelbook-collection.60825/

Brother Bear and Emperor's New Groove both had fewer votes, but got lovely glossy steelbooks. I'm not saying that Disney pay any attention to such polls, but it's an interesting guage for fan demand.

From a personal standpoint, I'd like nothing more than to see steelbooks for The Black Cauldron and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, but both of these seem like even more remote possibilities than Atlantis. I'd also go for Bolt and Oliver & Company in a heartbeat. Fingers crossed Disney will see enough financial incentive to continue or even complete this collection.

I realise this is probably the wrong place to post, but I just disocvered an old collecion of cardboard O-rings for Disney DVDs and Blu-rays (UK releases) that I don't want. The discs and their Amaray cases were long ago donated to a friend after I replaced them with the steelbook editions. Some of the O rings are quite nice with special treatments on a few (e.g. lenticular O-ring for The Lion King on Blu-ray; embossed O-ring for Cinderalla Diamond Edition Blu-ray and Brave 3D Blu-ray etc.) Where can I post to see if anyone would be interested in these? Would rather not junk them if I can help it! Again, this is just the O-rings, NOT the films themselves. I can supply a full list of the available slips to anyone who'd like to see it.

I would definitely love to take them off your hands if you don't want them :D

Nice to see 10 of the recent 16 Disney / Disney Pixar lenticular steelbooks all together (missing SNOW WHITE, TOY STORY, FROZEN, THE LION KING, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST and FINDING NEMO).

Wish they had done a straight forward version of lilo and stitch and not a lectingular and also hope they do a Bolt or Atlantis
Agreed.
Not a fan of lenti magnets(Lenti’s should be o-ring or full-slips only as far as am concerned. Lol)

It still pains me, that the only one i don't have is the "Emperors New Groove"
It pains me that we will never have a full classic collection on steelbook at all.
Think about it, none of us, could even have a chance at owning or amassing such a collection.

(Seriously though, I feel for you. When you miss out on a steelbook that’s part of its own set, ie. Disney, Marvel, Tarantino etc, it stings and burns the collector nerve. Fingers crossed you find a copy one day)

I’d like a Steelbook of Song of the South but that’s never going to happen in the world we live in today
I’d settle for a VHS steelbook(or DVD) of the movie.
Only way I can watch it now is via a not very well transferred .avi file of the VHS tape :(

Don’t know how true it is, but I heard, many years back, that Disneyland Paris, sold DVD copies of the movie. Apparently in the early days of DVD and digital media discs, it was initially manufactured before the ‘controversy backlash’ gathered momentum.
I’ve seen supposed copies on eBay/amazon marketplace type of site, but I didn’t have the courage to risk buying a copy as it looked like a pirate VCD in my honest opinion.
So, maybe there is/was a digital transfer of the movie, that Disney has.....there’s no smoke withput fire...even if the Disneyland bit is a myth.

Nice to see 10 of the recent 16 Disney / Disney Pixar lenticular steelbooks all together (missing SNOW WHITE, TOY STORY, FROZEN, THE LION KING, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST and FINDING NEMO).
