I actually don't mind that art, I'll definitely pick this up at some point. The film isn't the greatest horror/sci-fi ever but it has its moments, it certainly does boast one of the most memorable endings I have ever seen in a film. Plus it has one of my favourite put-downs that I've heard in a movie, the whole "The day I need a friend like you, I'll just have myself a little squat..... " scene.

This movie was so insanely ridiculous that it actually becomes like a comedy. It's barely even watchable unless you're willing to have some fun with it.
I swear on my life that every character was instructed to always do the absolute dumbest possible thing at every opportunity that they had.

The problem with that kind of directing/storyline is that it quickly comes to the point where you say this every time someone dies "uh... yep, he deserved it".

OMFG!
More than any ending in the history of all cinema, this ending literally makes you wants to peck your own eyes out after the scene with the family in the car.

Needless to say... I will not be adding this steelbook to my collection.

Way to come in here and rain on everyone's parade!

Anyway, not sure what I think of that design. :/

I guess I'll be getting it anyway as I love the film.

I've not seen this film but I'm really feeling that art

Had made me laugh though because @luke98 said about blue colour and others have mentioned pop art (which I think think these are a step above) but this reminds me more of Bronson and Amelie art

I'll be interested in this anyway but maybe on a price drop

Didn't realise this had aliens (or whatever that is) in it (please don't spoil it for me by telling me what it is though)
A few posts I skipped in this thread as it looked like it was going to spoil stuff)

That's your opinion...I think movie was great.

We are here to discuss the steelbooks not the movies, so....

This was an absolute winner on my book, I remember being at the cinema waiting for the book ending and being blown away.

Love the artwork! Not sure why everyone keeps referring to this style of art as "pop art" though... the recent Pop Art line of steels weren't even true pop art either though to be fair. :p

Don't think I've ever seen the film all the way through, but from what I did see I remember thinking the same as @jimmyv... it became a bit daft, and the ending really annoyed me lol. Maybe I'll enjoy it more now I know what to expect though... I'm willing to give it another go. :)

Well the £12.99 prices didn't last long lol

As much as I love that art I think I'll wait for a drop after release

Looking forward to seeing what it looks like in hand though

It says this in the description:

This 2-Disc Special Edition contains the colour and black & white versions of The Mist along with over 2 hours of special features.

DISC TWO

  • B&W Feature H Director Introduction

Is there another film of this or something?

Also says on the front of the jcard or sticker

I'm guessing it's a black and white version of the same film but to give it an old school look?

The colour for me reflects the tones ,shadeing and distortion of The Mist in the title . That it creates its own fear .

Shows how one persons Brilliant is another persons Rubish .

Myself I find it a hard emotional watch that glad I have seen it dont want to watch it again even though it was so good .

One of the better takes on reflecting the essance of the movie in the artwork in my lowly opinion .

Frank Darabont talks about the black and white version:

I quite like the SteelBook artwork. It's a film I really enjoy, and whenever I revisit it, I always watch the black and white version. Reminds me of The Twilight Zone in many ways.

I don't kow. It's one of the better gut punches, and non-Hollywood endings I have ever seen.
