They were just different coloured prototypes of the leather one

For some reason my Kimchi Fifth Element had a very noticeable minty odor.

I wonder if the leather slip will scratch easily?

I think that was the glue, mine had a strong smell to it aswell!

Dear our customers,

Today, we proudly present the first Leather Slip made by Manta Lab. We have mentioned about making a video to show leather slip to our customers but due to a technical difficulty, we couldn't make the video we wanted in short period of time. We are truly sorry for this. Instead, we have prepared a batch of photos to highlight our leather slip edition.

Borrowing from our website, please look below for the description of the Revenant leather slip edition.

"The first premium leather slip made by Manta Lab. This special edition is made out of high quality faux leather which changes color with application of heating to the surface. The Pyrography creates great debossing effect to the original artworks of "The Revenant". All leather slips have been assembled by skilled leather craftsmen. Multiple stitching on the spine of the slip to give extra details. Velvet covered inside for a subtle finish."

We had options to make the leather slip more luxurious but we wanted to stick to the theme of the movie and apply more weathered and rustic feel to the leather. As a result, we are quite happy with the sample we've received from the leather shop.

Since this is the first time our company introducing a product with new material, we have been getting enormous amount of inquiries and requests both locally and internationally. In order to fulfill the demand, we have decided to change the ratio of our total print run as below.

Leather Slips -> 800 Copies
Full Slips -> 500 Copies
Lenticular Slips -> 400 Copies.

We were very excited to see the sample come to our office and we hope that our customers feel the same way. As we always say, real products are much better than pictures. Also, with the other editions, we have put a lot of time and effort into making them. We hope our customers can support the other editions of this release as well.

Okay I'll be the first and I'll be honest, it's not as great as I hoped in terms of imagery.
I was hoping for different art to the HMV/ WWA

Wholeheartedly agreed. It's a bit disappointing. On a very high level, of course.
Either in this thread or the FAC Revenant thread somebody stated the bear was not allowed to appear on any cover. Back then I thought of it as a joke, but now that all the artworks are known, there might be something to that statement.
Anyway, I'll try to secure the OC on Aug 5.

I have to be honest: although the leather slip is still desirable because it's utterly unique, I'm very disappointed in the art/design. This big-head-cover thing has become a real plague over the last few months, and I wish with every fiber of my being that it would go away and never come back. A big head taking up an entire cover is simply lazy and dull. Between the removal of the text from the full slip and the poor choice of art for the leather, I'm taking a step back from what was fast becoming unconditional love for Manta.

I still have unconditional love for manta because they truly seem to care and listen to us the consumers. But It's just not the edition I was hoping for so I'm going for one of the other two.

Btw I know it's nitpicking but the OP could be updated with the new fullslip (less text)

Just the effort of making a WWE steelbook plus 3 TRULY different editions, for me deserves that we support their work by purchasing at least our favorite so they can continue to develop new slips.

It looks okay to me. The idea is awesome, the stiching looks perfect, also the color of it but the artwork with the big heads is just okay. But I also don't know which artwork I would've liked more on it. I don't know. Maybe I like the regular FS too much. The colors on it are just so beautiful. No way I'll double dip so I still need the week to decide which I go for

I had not planned to buy, but since I saw the leather slip pics, I can't resist.

I actually quite like the 'Leather Slip', although I would have preferred it if they had used imagery other than the ubiquitous head shots.

At the risk of offending any animal rightists here, I would also have preferred it if they had used real leather rather than this ersatz faux-leather. If it's the usual plastic based material then it won't be as durable as the real McCoy, and is likely to degrade with handling, particularly around the holes for the stitching. So probably one to keep sealed.

I had intended only going for a Full Slip but now that I have seen this, I have joined the GB for a 1-Click. Fortunately, there were still slots available. I doubt that the 'Leather Slip' will last very long once it goes live on Manta's site, so I'm not prepared to risk missing out on it altogether.

So, two firsts for me. This will be my first ever 1-Click, and also the first time I will have obtained a specific edition with the absolute intention of keeping it sealed.

Acquiring this is also worth the risk of incurring Customs Charges, although I'm hoping that @Aniv is able to get Manta to reduce the declared value to $18, for those of us in the UK.

All in all, an excellent release from Manta. Only their second release and they are already at the top table, along with Plain Archive, Blufans and HDzeta.

That's so ridiculous. If they're increasing the print run by that much, it will make it much more easier to just buy directly. I hope none of the new copies go towards any Group Buys.
