Methinks the Manta fans are out in force so far. People are going to buy this and they haven't even seen the film yet??
I think if you had any real interest in this, you'd have seen it before it was announced as a premium Steelbook!

With so many many movies out there, it happens you forget about one or two. Especially if they aren't much talked about. "Mitty" is one of those. But I will watch it before I make a decision whether to buy this Manta Lab Exclusive or pass.

I wonder what the process is for selecting these titles. Is it based off Manta labs owners personal favourites or through the studio?

I know alot of people are hyped for Fight club and Edge of Tomorrow but how many people would've chose those titles off the top of their head if asked which exclusive should Manta do? I'll be buying this one but by the sounds of it alot of people won't be and I think its such a left field choice that no one either wants the film or wants to spend this kind of money on the film.

It would be interesting to see a retailer do a premium steelbook fullslip/lenticular release of a series. Would make a good alternative to a global release line. Something like Sons of Anarchy or True Detective would be awesome and that's not to mention all the Marvel/DC shows which I know would sell well.

It's one of Johns (the owner) films that means something to him I believe and the whole place of Walter Mitty's work related to what he does

I agree and wouldn't mind the steel on a stand alone for say £14.99/ £15.99 ish

I personally think the choice is a random one and I was up for collecting all their exclusives but I just can't justify the price on this

I'll wait for the whole beauty shots and what they have planned for slips before I 100% make a desicion but at the moment i wish it was something else.

If they wanted to go left field or quirky it should of been something like being John malkovich, where the wild things are, the Royal tenenbaums, Donnie darko, the Darjeeling limited, moonrise kingdom etc
Or even vanilla sky - you can see where I'm going with those titles

Not impressed with the plain red sticker wither but that's the least of this releases worries

Don't forget that it's not easy to just do an exclusive Steelbook release for any movie they want... that decision is down to the studios. Who knows, maybe John had gone through some other titles before Walter Mitty and they all got turned down... probably not though. :p

Personally I'm glad to see this getting special treatment and like that Manta are taking risks with these types of films... hopefully not for the last time either! Would love any of those you mentioned @Flloydo, especially Vanilla Sky.

The owner of Twilight Time basically admitted that the movies his company releases are based on movies that HE likes. So I think that does go into the decision making.
