They are be smart, making sure the next 10 editions all sell out. Hats off to FA. A release that many people did not buy, put it in a fullslip and give it a number. Which will sell. Reminds me of the Terminator 1.

Personally, as regards the Gift Item only going to those who have all titiles from AASB onards is really expecting too much - or is simply a way ro restricting costs.

Fairest way might be to make the gift titles availabel to all those hwo have bought a high percentage of titles - say 55% and above, and then those names go into a prize draw - first 100 drawn get a copy - assuming they still have their copies.
Maybe the best idea would have been to give the gift to those members that have a number. I have been #195 for a long time.
I think it is insane to think someone will buy all of them just because its FAC. Nobody loves EVERYTHING, and not everybody can afford the whole lot. Example: I do not Love Rosie.:naughty:

Then that would mean someone like myself who have everything could theoretically miss out on this and someone who's only has 55% could get a copy would not be fair to the complete collectors. You thinking there isn't many is prob far from true I know of at least 30 or 40 people who have he whole set and some that have 99% of them excluding the expensive aasb. I believe there is 400 copies of aasb 100 numbered and 300 unnumbered so that makes at most 400 complete sets to be out there so this might. Be if you have a unnumbered copy you can Still qualify. It will have to due with sending a photo or something to fa some how to show you have the collection not hard to do if you have them all if there's not 100 complete collections then it will prob go to who has all except 1 and so on tell they have them all gone

So someone who has sold off there entire collection but still has a number could receive this and then sell it. It's really simple show a photo of your collection and you can get this not that hard similar to what some people did with the last stand. I mean personally he dude selling aasb on eBay who would have to have a number between 1-100 should not receive this release

I'm saying that FA are in danger of alienating their biggest supporters. I buy a LOT of their releases. But I don't love EVERY film they deem FAC worthy. So, is a customer less worthy because they are missing one or two?
No. And that is a very valuable customer because they do Buy a lot of the releases.
Requiring a 100% buy-in is insane. There is not ONE company out there wherein I love every single one of their releases and want to own them all. Not Blufans, not Nova, not Plain...Not even Criterion.
They should follow Blufan's model and require a minimum percentage. But I would not buy Turds like Independence Day Resurrection, Ted & Ted 2 just to be deemed "worthy" of a prize.
But at least the prize is not one that I am all hot and bothered about, so my annoyance about this is not super high. :bored:

It's my theory that they dropped Love Rosie to put the Completionists to the test! Anyone who bought that deserves a free gift!

I see where your coming from and they are doing what you are talking about as well they are releasing black hawk down for people who don't have full collections but have a majority of them except a few. His one is for people who collect full sets and wether it's because they like them all or just because they feel if you collect something you should collect the whole lot. I know this from collecting cards and other things through my life collectors are all types some collect what they like and others collect the full range of said collectable. Film arena is taking the approach of the completist collector for this title and I am sure people with only one or two missing will get this as I don't see to many having aasb and a full collection just like the one that's on eBay for sale for 800 plus.

Oh there are far worse films on FA's list :
AASB (an unscary, thoroughly absurd horror movie seemingly derived from a third hand script)
The Equalizer (a tiresome, crass B-movie only saved from the total obscurity it deserves by a significantly more deserving Denze lWashington),
Get on UP( the bio that comes to covertly bury Caesar not praise him),
13 Hours (Michael Bay's gruesome war porn epic, lacking all perspective and nuance ),
Warcraft (another incoherent mess)
Assassin's Creed ( a film so bad not even Michael Fassbinder's presence and great effects can save)

on and on it goes . . . :(

And amidst all this we are still waiting for King Kong . . . .

Am I the only one who liked As Above, So Below? I like cheap scares and weird trippy horror movies. The FAC release is one of my grails but it goes for SO MUCH MONEY on the 'Bay :(

On topic, I would love to own this release and it's so cool a member here designed the slip. Major props!

That movie AASB!!
I mean if they can't make a scary horror movie set in what must be the most frightening place on Earth (the Paris Catacombs) then they shouldn't be in the movie business!

Oooooh yes; and to think I almost caved some time ago and bought one for semi-completion purposes - a quick bang on the head with the rubber hammer and I was right as rain again :) :naughty:

Ha!
AASB is (almost inarguably) an objectively bad film. The FAC edition is the acid test of whether or not you have a compulsive "completionist" issue to deal with.
Spending $200-$300 on a terrible movie is a cry for help.;):D

Just cause you you don't like it dosnt mean others don't come on people it's not just about what you like. So if someone wants to spend 200-300 for it good for them. It's just like people paying 200 for kimchis Thor some see it as a good movie others don't no need to jump on people and say they need help just because they ain't got the same taste in films as you
