another pointless release. What about the 5th movie? @Flloydo it would make much more sense to make the boxsets relevant to movies from the franchise. 1-3 and 4-6 etc

For us pointless but for zavvi NO. There us always a market for this and Aliens. Releasing these one's and make some money now and do it again with the new one's which are out this year.

Nice looking set of Steelbooks, but I agree that the outer box becomes pointless once the new ones released and there's also the problem of whether the artwork on the new movie will match the others

"The Transformers More than meets the eye", I don't have any of the steelbooks or movies apart from the animated movie, personally I don't like the movies, loved the cartoons, seems their gonna do this one multiple times too.

. . . and I thought they'd abandoned slipcases for U.K. steelbooks after "The Warriors" in late November of last year. . . although these four look slightly better than what we're accustomed to with different background colouring on each steelbook / slipcase even though the same artwork has been used (but of course not in SotD premium slipcase territory).

With just a taste of a premium release . . . better value (GBP 68.99 I'm guessing) . . . and an altogether more sensible release by comparison as instead of having the same steelbook thrice with different slips you have an EBlu "Mummy trilogy" style collection with in this case four (of the proposed seven) films included . . . with the major difference between this and the EB offering the individual slips instead of naked steelbooks in a collector's box.

Not the first time these four films have been combined in a boxset . . . and before that there was the trilogy boxset and later there will be the 5-film, the 6 film and the 7 film boxset . . . as we know film boxsets not unusual - from two films in a box to many more.

Even as DVDs they look good side by side:-

Presumably the same glossy steelbooks with de-bossing (?) as will be shortly available in other territories (ATM cheapest is Amazon.de @13 Euros each BUT it should be remembered that the German steelbooks reportedly contain just 1 disc in each while the U.K. and Italian releases, as but two examples, contain 2 discs).
No slips on non-U.K. releases that I can see.

Previous U.K, TRANSFORMERS steelbook releases a bit of a mishmash so these matching four are a welcome change . . . matching U.K. steelbook sets being a bit of a rarity let alone complete matching steelbook sets.

Might grab the individual releases for the first 3 but the boxset is a bit pointless. Could have waited & released it with The Last Knight as a Michael Bay set seeing as this is to be his last one. But then there's a Transformers 6 coming anyway, along with a Bumble-Bee movie.

Studios will always keep releasing box sets for consumers who don't own any of the movies, even with a new movie in the series coming out. We all understand this is a pointless release but not every release must have a point from the company's point of view.
