Throughout a career that encompasses both visually arresting art-house hits and big-budget Hollywood spectacles, director Guillermo del Toro has continually redefined and elevated the horror genre with his deeply personal explorations of myths and monsters. These three Spanish-language films, each a tale of childhood in troubled times, showcase his singular fusion of the fantastic and the real. Drawing inspiration from a rich variety of sources, from Alfred Hitchcock to Francisco de Goya, the gothic-infused stories collected here—populated by vampires, ghosts, and a fairy-tale princess—make evident why del Toro is considered the master cinematic fabulist of our time.

Great idea with the Boxset. I need all three of em and I want to get Devils Backbone and Cronos in the current sale. So I'll probably pass on the Boxset and get Pans later.

I'm getting kind of annoyed with Criterion doing this: just like with the Whit Stillman Collection - they released 2 individual movies of a trilogy, and then do a boxed set when they release the third.
So now I have sell the two individuals to buy the boxed set. Really annoying. I did it with the Whit Stilman set, but I won't here because I am not a fan of this art. (Nor on the idividuals). The Pan's Labyrinth art on the Amaray and German Steelbook are a million times better. And even the UK popup book looks better.

Yeah, the only pop-up Blu rays like that I know of, are this one, and a pop-up blu ray of CORALINE that came out a while back.

The UK pop up set is very nice. I picked it up when it was around £20. @PunkNinja has some awesome pop up editions. I'm pretty sure he posted a thread of them a while back.

I really need to update the pics on those thread. Most of my pics got scrambled with other pics from the HDN site update.
I also need to add my The Babadook pop-up slipcover [USA], Attack on Titan The Movie Part 1: Crimson Bow and Arrow pop-up [Japan] and Das Panoptikum des Terry Gilliam pop-up [Germany]

There's a live video from Criterioncast at Instagram where they opened this Boxset. It opens to all sides. I tried to do some Screenshots. The right side and bottom side was impossible to snap in the short time.

What a beautiful Boxset :drool::drool: @PunkNinja @tridon @C.C. 95 @digitalbabe @kryptonite @bloodsnake007 @Sigill @sminister
