Legendary Pictures and Universal Pictures have closed deals with Ben Foster (3:10 to Yuma), Travis Fimmel ("Vikings"), Paula Patton (Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, Toby Kebbell (The Counselor), and Rob Kazinsky (Pacific Rim) and are in final stages of negotiation with Dominic Cooper (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) to star in Warcraft, based on Blizzard Entertainment’s award-winning Warcraft universe.

The script for March 11, 2016 release was written by Charles Leavitt and rewritten by Duncan Jones. Production is set to begin as planned in Vancouver this January.

Charles Roven, Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni and Alex Gartner will produce. Stuart Fenegan, Jillian Share, Brent O’Connor and Blizzard’s Mike Morhaime and Paul Sams will serve as executive producers. Chris Metzen, Rob Pardo and Nick Carpenter from Blizzard will co-produce.

VERY EXCITING news this. I can't wait to see what they come up with for this movie. The games will surely provide TONS of possibilities they can go with.

Warcraft has such rich Lore they could do so much with this movie, and any sequels....perhaps if this does well they might make a Starcraft movie (which would be amazing to see!)

First Look at 'OGRIM, the Orc!"

Universal and Legendary Pictures (via Wired) have released the first official images from the upcoming big screen adaptation, Warcraft, which features your first official look at Robert Kazinsky as the orc Ogrim.

“We were looking for someone who would be able to perform the gruffness, the humor, and the toughness of this character,” director Duncan Jones tells the outlet. “We’ve gone beyond the point where these are just creatures in movies. “We now have the technology and the ability to make new characters entirely.”

The last two images of the orc have me intrigued, as previously I thought this would be an utter waste of celluloid.
OFF TOPIC: Can't believe people are still paying to play Warcraft, Guild Wars 2 is the way to go forward for the players methinks.

Hopefully this movie will be good and we might get a sequel as Warcraft has such rich lore...well it did until World of Warcraft started to mess it all up with its recent expansions. If the story of Warcraft 3 became a movie, that would be pretty epic.
