For as much hype it got, yes it was. Fell flat on it's fast and tumble and rolled into spilled magazine and somebody finished it off by throwing a match on it.

Who here remembers Rise of the Robots? that's the biggest disappointment I can remember, not sure if anything else comes close, it was so hyped in all the gaming magazines at the time.

Also I'd have to say Assassin's Creed 1 and Hellgate London. AC1 quickly became repetitive and Hellgate, well, total flop.

Yeah for me it was Duke Nukem and Homefront.

Homefront promised an emotional and realistic gaming experience making you truly live out the horrors of war and feel for the people who get killed.
What I got was a short introduction including a name and a job of each person who later died so couldn't care less when they snuffed it, and the gameplay was just a generic shooter shooting down waves after waves of soldiers with ai that always tracked you. Meaning a rocket to the face whenever I popped out of cover.
The game wasn't really terrible overall but the over-hype and lies started by the company seriously ruined it.

Glad to see I'm not alone when it comes to GTA IV. Got mine as a gift from a friend but could barely play it for 1 hour.

Another that I found to be crap is Devil May Cry for PS2. Hard controls just to begin with.

Its a real shame. Great idea, great setting but the execution was piss poor!

You ever see that 'how long to beat' website? Well if it says a game takes 8 hours on average I'm probs double that to complete stuff. Homefront I completed the campaign in 3 hours

I had it pre-ordered on the stength of the MP demo, the screenshots, the videos and the dev comments

What we got as you say was a lie! Short campaign, visually not impressive at all, bland repetitive game play and a broken MP that literally didnt work at all for the first 2 weeks then was just ****ed for months after. The MP demo should have been pulled by MS & Sony as it was a blatant lie. The fact that people who owned the full game were playing the MP demo cause that actually worked says it all

I can only agree about Metal Gear Rising. Finished the game in one sitting. Since i'm a huge MG-fan I bought the limited edition. Feel kind of cheated now and I don't feel like playing it again. Guess I'll have to play with the damn Raiden-doll that came with the game instead.
