Anyone use rental services like Game Fly, or do you buy them, resell, etc?

Enjoy!

I don't like renting. Sometimes it takes me a while before I can go back and play a certain game. My brother usually plays them before I do.

Both ... but after letting gamefly keep billing me for the last 5 months without really using it, I need to cancel it lol.

I buy almost all of the time, I have 120+ games, I don't really like to buy used but I have in the past. I did use gamefly for 6 months to rack up quick platinums in games I wouldn't buy like hannah montana, monsters vs aliens etc... then I cancelled it when I ran through everything I wanted to play

Do you have a plat in Monsters vs. Aliens? Those challenges some seemed hard.

It depends on the game...

I break games down into two categories... There are games I want to own and games I want to platinum.

If I just want to platinum it (i.e. Rango, You Don't Know Jack, Megamind, etc) I get them from various places. I used to get from Block Buster, but their prices were RIDICULOUS! Then my Red Box started getting games, but it was rare that they'd have anything in it that I could platinum quickly, so I only did one or two games out of that. Then I just recently got GameFly; i've managed to platinum 2 games from GameFly and i'm working on my 3rd.

If I want to own the game I'll buy it. I prefer new games, but I never buy NEW games... So I always wait until they drop in price a bit... However I do take advantage of the Game Stop B2Go deal on games that weren't packaged with DLC codes (i.e. Fallout 3 GOTY).

Same here. I end up buying rather than renting.

Buy. Anymore though i wait a few months for most games, as my backlog is already big enough, no point in spending $60 for a game that will sit here for a few months, when it'll be $20-$30 most of the time by then.

I don't think I have rented any games this gen.

Usually with demos, reviews and whatnot there is enough info for me to decide if I want to buy on launch day or wait for a sale.

I have never rented a game, mostly because that service isn't available anywhere near where i live, so I always buy my games. Personally I think that's for the best.

Can't rent games where I am so my only option is buying.

Sometimes I wait for price drop but games like Arkham City, Assassin's Creed, Dead Space or Uncharted are usually games which I try to buy as soon as they are released.

I used to have Lovefilm subscription but it wasn't worth it in the end. I will never buy a game near it's release unless there is a good promotion going on, e.g- Skyrim was £24.99 at launch

Buy. I tried renting a while back, when Blockbuster was all the rage.

I buy all my games and then my stepson plays them.

I very rarely pay the full price tho, I always wait a few months to get the games cheaper.

Just got Resident Evil 6 for $29.99 + taxes. Bought Bioshock Infinite at full price on Thursday but it was for my stepson's birthday so...

I buy games b/c I like the sense of ownership. I barely play games, but my younger brother enjoys them. Honestly, I don't even why I own a PS3/Xbox 360. :/

I enjoy buying games. I can play on my own time and not feel rushed.
