Sony Expands Blu Production

To help increase the amount of Blu-rays being sold in China, Sony and a Shanghai media group collaborated to open a new 130,000 square-foot facility with a 10.5 million dollar two-layer Blu-ray software assembly line. This plant, which employs around 200 people, should be able to produce around 500,000 discs a month. This comes in at a time in which the health of the Sony brand is coming into question during hardened economic times. Most discs that are produced will stay in the marketplace in China, but if production allows, you will be able to import them.
