Sony shows off its first 3D Blu-ray player and at only $200

At CES 2010 the S370 and S570 were shown but the S470 was absent. Fear not, the 470 has shown up and its their first 3D capable Blu-ray player. Expected is not only Blu-ray and 3D blu-ray playback but streaming 3D programs with Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD audio decoding. The player boasts, DVD upscaling, a USB port, SACD playback and compatibility with the Sony BD Remote iPhone app. To top it all off though, is the amazing door buster price (at least for this high tech.) All for $200!

Besides their not being true 3D discs out on the market yet, you wont be able to take advantage of this incredible feature anyways until the firmware is out. The 3D firmware can also be applied to the aforementioned BDP-S570 plus the BDV-E770W and BDV-E570, granting them all with 3D playback.

Pre-order/Purchase Sony BDP-S470 Blu-ray Disc Player

If this sensible pricing continues through the displays, players, and glasses, then 3D may have a strong chance from the start after all.

More features listed below:

• Blu-ray 3D playback capability
• BRAVIA Internet Video: Access movies, music, videos & more
• iPhone/iPod touch BD Remote
• Quick Start/Load to watch movies faster than ever
• BRAVIA Monolithic matching design for clean esthetics
