So here we are — the second HDN HalloweenFest, and boy do we have some great prizes to give away.
Do you like horror? Do you like sci-fi? Well EVENT HORIZON takes the best of both and makes a fantastic movie. We have some Blu-rays signed by the movie’s writer Phil Eisner to give away. Each copy has different quotes and the winner will receive a random copy — no picking the one you want, sadly.
How to win, I hear you ask? Well, that’s easy. All I want you to do is tell me your favourite space-themed horror movie in the comments box below. Best answer will win a copy. I’ll choose one winner tonight and one on Saturday. Also, keep an eye on the HDN forums for more chances to win.
Competition will end on Friday 28th October at 23:59 GMT!
A massive thank you to Phil Eisner for signing these for us. We really appreciate it.
Good luck all!
My favorite space-themed horror movie is ALIEN (1979)!
Pitch black with Vin diesel. Did a good job combining horror, suspense, and action and sort of helped jumpstart Vin Diesel’s career. Plus Riddick is a BA character.
For me it was Event Horizon, Sam Neill was awesome in this flick. The scene where the camera is zooming out on the space-craft and the camera is rotating at the same time is very trippy.
Great answers so far. Keep em coming folks!
Thanks for the amazing giveaway
Now this is a cool prize and actually my favourite horror sci fi film is this – event horizon. I remember watching it first as a teen and it scared the s**t out of me!
Do love alien too
Alien and Aliens. 2 of my most favorite SciFi horror! The design of the monster is a stroke of genius, Nostromo’s atmosphere is very claustrophobic and Jerry Goldsmith’s score matches the images perfectly. Thanks for this fab giveaway!
Thank you for this great giveaway! It is definitely Alien but to make it not that easy I choose a movie that is probably also one of my favorite Sci-Fi movies ever and definitely makes the horror genre too- 2001: Space Odyssey. Yes. Beautiful Sci-Fi Horror. Not “in your face” like the not less beautiful Alien or what ever is on board in Event Horizon. But Kubrick made me fall with it for the entire Sci-Fi genre. And Hal 9000 is one of the most fearful villains ever.
Event Horizon!! That’s my favorite. I watched it several times. Sam Neill was excellent in this film. Love it!!
I’m going for the cult classic, Roger Corman’s Galaxy of Terror (1981). “The only way out is death!”
Thx for the guts smashing giveaway from HDN and Phil Eisner.
Well mine is Event Horizon. I remember seeing this at the cinema back in 1997 and instantly loving it. Everything about the film is amazing, the opening paramount logo with the awesome Orbital soundtrack is fantastic. I watch this movie at least 3 times a year.
My favourite is easily Event Horizon.
Films such as the Alien or Predator franchises are all well and good, but they feature imaginary beasts that don’t scare me as easily I know they’re not real.
Event Horizon contains a far scarier monster: mankind at its sickening worst! Everything from Sam Neil’s unhinged performance, the shocking gore & the audio tapes of the doomed crew just make for a more terrifying experience.
(It also helped inspire Dead Space, one of my favourite scary games to play!)
Strangely….Gravity. It really made me feel what it would of been like to be in a situation like that. Plus, I’d of lost m s**t way sooner. Terrifying really.
I CAN’T BELIEVE I MISSED THIS ! T^T
