In the last few weeks Hasbro has been unveiling new products from their multiple brands including Transformers, Marvel, and Star Wars and it all culminated on February 18th at their Entertainment Brand Preview showcase.
I would like to mention there were new products from many of their brands that I didn’t cover below including My Little Pony, Nerf, Magic The Gathering, and Monopoly.
Last year I started my coverage with Transformers, so this year, I am going to switch it up and cover Star Wars, especially given that 2017 is the 40th Anniversary of A New Hope.
The Star Wars product line continues to produce figures in the 6-inch Black Series line and the 3 ¾ figures line, Die Cast figures, Bladebuilders, a Poe Dameron Black Series Roleplay Helmet, Force FX Lightsabers, Star Wars Monopoly, Black Series center pieces, and in homage to the 40th Anniversary and the original Kenner products, all 12 original figures in the 6-inch Black Series with original Kenner packaging. While still being in the 6-inch Black Series line unlike other Black Series packaging, these figures will be in bubbles to mimic the original product line. Also announced was a Star Wars Celebration Luke Figure Convention Exclusive.
So let’s dive right in:

Star Was Celebration Hasbro Exclusive FigureStar Wars MonopolyNext up is Marvel with products ranging from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and TV and Comics. Products range from figures, dancing Baby Groot, playsets, 12-Inch line, and two new Roleplay items; a Star-Lord Helmet with Bluetooth that syncs to your phone to play music and Thor’s mighty Hammer Mjolnir with sounds, light-up action, and a voice recognition feature. Both are available for preorder now at Amazon retailing at $99.95 each. Most of everything shown has been previously revealed here, but feel free to see some of the live photos.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Dancing Baby Groot, Star-Lord, and 6-Inch Legends Figures
Spider-Man: Homecoming including Playsets, Figures, and wearable masks, most of which were previously revealed in the last few weeks.
Marvel Legends Figures including 6-Inch and 12-Inch (14.5 in Hulk’s case) figures which includes the first figure of Kurt Russell’s Ego character from Guardians of the Galaxy Part 2.
Continuing from last year’s release of premium role play items, Hasbro is producing a Star-Lord Helmet as well as Mjolnir, Thor’s Hammer.
Finally up is Transformers which continues the Titans Return in the Generations line which should finish up with the Prime Wars arc. The biggest, baddest reveal was the new Titan Trypticon figure which turns from his dinosaur mode to base to space station mode. One interesting note: the Transformers team worked extremely hard to get the teal color to match the original colors. There are so many details from his ability to swallow headmasters to just being extremely detailed. There were also plenty of other robots in disguise including a Blitzwing and an Octone to finish the original triple changers.
Finally, I was fortunate enough to be invited to a small press party for the new Transformers mobile 3D action-fighting game Forged to Fight. Players will be able to collect iconic characters from nearly every era of Transformers’ history, including Autobots and Decepticons from the animated series and Paramount’s blockbuster films, as well as fan-favorites from the Transformers comic book series and Hasbro’s massive catalog of figures. Teams can be formed with both Autobots and Decepticons.
More information on the game can be found here.
Again, a big thank you to Hasbro for inviting Hi-Def Ninja into their showroom and mobile game party, allowing us to see their newest and coolest products! Hi-Def Ninja is also thankful for Hasbro’s generous donations and participation in Ninja Week 2017.
